Guided tours
At weekends and on public holidays there is a programme of guided tours around the most important monuments in Guadalajara.The tours start at 12 in the morning at the Guadalajara Tourist Office in the Plaza de los Caídos en la Guerra Civil, 6, opposite the Infantado Palace.
The route is as follows: Alcázar Real, Torreón de Alvar Fáñez, Antonio de Mendoza Palace, La Cotilla Palace, Luís de Lucena Chapel and the Torreón del Alamín.
The tour lasts around two and a half hours.

You can see more information on cultural activities at the Buero Vallejo Theatre-Auditorium website: http://www.teatrobuerovallejo.com/Guadalajara is also a great base for daytrips by car, possible destinations include Torija and Sigüenza, Pastrana and the reservoir area, Cogolludo and Atienza, the “Black Architecture” in villages such as Tamajón, Valverde de los Arroyos and Majaelrayo, Hayedo de Tejera Negra.
Another option for a day out is Alcalá de Henares, around 15 minutes away by car and 20 minutes by train.
